Dean of the Faculty of Economics, prof. Dr. Mijat Jocović hosted the American Ambassador, Her Excellency Judy Rising Reinke, to discuss strengthening international cooperation and connecting the Faculty of Economics with prestigious American universities.
During the meeting, which was attended by Mr. Stephen Dreikorn, head of the Department for Media, Culture and Education, as well as Mrs. Jelena Vojnić, associate on educational programs, in addition to Ambassador Reinke, the results so far were presented, as well as the plans of the Faculty of Economics in the field of improving internationalization both with partner higher education institutions in Europe and with universities in the United States of America.
The meeting was an opportunity for Ambassador Reinke to learn about cooperation with the American Boston College (Boston College), with which the Faculty of Economics signed a Memorandum of Understanding at the end of the previous year. Based on this cooperation, 13 associates of the Faculty of Economics stayed at that college in September of this year for a two-week training on the most modern pedagogical approaches and the use of advanced technologies in the educational process. The results of the previous cooperation between the Faculty of Economics and Boston College, as well as plans for future cooperation, which should include student and professor exchange programs, joint projects and initiatives such as summer school in Montenegro, were discussed by Assoc. Dr. Tamara Backović, Vice Dean for International Cooperation and Assoc. Dr. Jovan Đurašković, vice dean for scientific research.
This visit confirms the commitment of the Faculty of Economics to internationalization and paves the way for a greater presence of Montenegrin institutions in the global academic community, which will significantly contribute to their visibility and further development, it was announced after the meeting.
