Rector of the University of Montenegro, prof. Dr. Vladimir Božović, President of the Board of Directors, prof. Dr. Milivoje Radović and Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Prof. Dr. Mijat Jocović, today at the Faculty of Economics they officially opened the renovated classrooms for teaching.
Rector Božović, on this occasion, emphasized the importance of investing in educational infrastructure as a key component for the development of quality higher education and strengthening the research capacity of students.
"This initiative is part of the strategic goal of the University to improve education standards, make programs more attractive and provide modern working conditions for students and teaching staff. The completion of another large infrastructure project additionally confirms the commitment of the University of Montenegro to the continuous improvement of its capacities and the creation of modern conditions for work and education," said Božović.
Dean of the Faculty of Economics, prof. Dr. Mijat Jocović expressed his gratitude to the University of Montenegro and especially to Rector Božović for his help and understanding in realizing the strategic goals of the Faculty of Economics.
"Today we are witnessing significant infrastructure projects supported by the University of Montenegro. However, the support is broader, more significant. It is reflected in understanding the current state of the Faculty of Economics and providing support for the improvement of teaching, scientific research and all other capacities of the first faculty in Montenegro," Jocović pointed out.
Over the past year, four classrooms have been renovated, with a total area of almost 900 square meters, with a capacity of over 400 seats. These spaces now provide modern conditions for holding classes, with a special emphasis on several key improvements.
Mediteran Hall,, with a capacity of 300 seats, has been transformed into a multifunctional space. In addition to being used for classes, it is also used for conferences, seminars and other important events.
The new computer room, formed by merging two smaller non-functional rooms, now has 54 workplaces and is equipped with the most modern computer equipment. This enables its intensive use in all study programs.
The existing computer room, with a capacity of 30 seats, has also been modernized and adapted to the modern needs of the teaching process.
The Millennium Hall, which had been out of use for years, was completely renovated and with its 50 seats it becomes a multi-purpose space. In addition to teaching, it will also be used for panel discussions, guest lectures, seminars and workshops.
In addition to classrooms, the Ekof lab research center was opened in the previous academic year, fully equipped technically and adapted for research work. For the needs of the numerous activities of the four centers - the Center for International Cooperation, the Center for Career Development, the Center for Business and the Center for Statistical Analysis, the Hall of Centers was adapted.
Rector Božović visited the new halls in the presence of the president of the UO Radović and dean Jocović, as well as the vice dean of the Faculty of Economics - prof. Zdenke Dragašević, Ph.D., Jovan Đurašković, Ph.D., and Tamara Backović, Ph.D., as well as student trustee Zerina Kardović.
