Dean of the Faculty of Economics, prof. Dr. Mijat Jocović highlighted the key activities that we carried out at the Faculty in the previous year.
"In the year when we mark 65 years since the establishment and successful operation of the Faculty of Economics, in cooperation with our Business Council, we organized a series of public debates on economic issues, which sent a strong message - that our strategic goal is to be a constructive, benevolent, reliable and professional partner and support for the state and the economy in creating a prosperous economic environment.
Dean Jocović pointed out that one of the most significant events this year was May 29 and the opening of the MICEB conference, where the political and economic implications of Montenegro's future membership in the EU were discussed, with the participation of Nobel laureate Professor James Robinson, which further positioned the Faculty on the international academic map. The year was also marked by strong infrastructural investments - the adaptation of several teaching rooms worth about 500,000 euros was completed, while the reconstruction of common areas, reading rooms and student services worth about 2 million euros is underway. In parallel, the drafting of the Development Strategy and preparations for the international AACSB accreditation were launched, which confirms the ambition Faculty to make its quality of work internationally comparable and recognized. Today, over 2,000 students attend the faculty, including more than 40 foreign students from ten countries, and for the first time, students from India and the Middle East are also enrolled.
Dean Jocović pointed out that more than 130 students passed the mandatory internship, a large number of them received job offers, while through cooperation with partners, scholarships were provided for the best students and associates, which once again confirmed the commitment to excellence, development and a strong connection with the economy.
After the introductory speeches, awards were presented to the best students. The awards were presented by Dean Jocović and the Director of Marketing and Communications of CKB Bank, our alumni Nemanja Đurašković.
